Cherry Pie Altered Noticeboard

I have had yet another move around in my craft area, this time adding a desk with a hutch arrangement on top- the kind most people use for their computers. There is a lot more storage, and I finally had a little bit of space to display my favourite ATCs and other items received from other stampers. This was a really simple project to do, and the last photograph shows all of my current inspiration! Click on the photo for a close-up.

Colour: Versafine, Distress Crackle paint, Perfect Pearls, silver embossing powder, Distress Ink
Stamps: Cherry Pie
Other: Calico fabric, satin ribbon, Papermania jewel brads.

I drew the diamonds onto the calico before stamping, and used post-it notes to mask off where I was stamping. The frame was painted with crackle paint, wiped over with Distress Ink, then dusted with Perfect Pearls whilst the ink was still wet. The stars were heat embossed on the calico, but the effect was a bit disappointing. It works best on the silk!

PS The card in the top right hand corner is from my best friend and scrapping buddy, Vicky. I love it!

ATCs- Black and White

These are my ATCs for UKStampers this month, to fit the theme of black and white. I went for simple, as you can see, and just used masking to get my cat in front of the background.

Colour: Versafine in Onyx Black
Stamps: All Cherry Pie
Other: Dymo labels, black velvet ribbon and brads from my stash.

Think Monday, Think ATC- Faces.

I decided last night that, despite the presence downstairs of the wakeful baby, I would leave him under the supervision of his Daddy, and go into the dining room to stamp. I was getting withdrawal symptoms! I wanted to make something small, and so decided to go for it, and make something for the new challenge site, Think Monday, Think ATC. This week's challenge is faces, and so I have used my gorgeous new Limited Edition stamps, plus some old favourites.
I stamped the frame first, in Versafine, and masked it off before stamping the Hero Arts script. Then I did a reverse mask and stamped the Cherry Pie face. I watercoloured everything using Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters, Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose, and Weathered wood. I stamped on the Prima flowers (with the new stamps), and attached them with brads from my stash.
For me, that's pretty simple, and I got it finished just as Dan started to be ready for sleep!

Second of Four...

This card is for my Dad. I wanted to put a sunflower on it, as it is a flower that has some happy family significance, but I do think the card is a little bit feminine! I think that's partly due to all of the white space; if I hadn't left it so late to make this card I may have re-mounted it on a darker cardstock. However, I know it will be appreciated, and I've now got a whole year to think of a better design!
Both the flower and the square frame are from Judikin's 'Carol's Cube', which is one of those useful stamps that can be utilised in a lot of different ways. I stamped and embossed in white, first doing the flower, using a mask cut from a post-it-note (making sure there was some of the sticky on the part I was cutting out), then stamping the frame. The image was coloured with watercolour pencils, using a wet brush touched directly to the pencil tip. Then I added a length of ribbon, and...that's it! A really simple card, for once!
